Christmas of 2006 Santa (my husband) purchased a Sony DSLR A100 camera for me. Now this is not just a camera, it is a machine. It is my favorite friend, and worst enemy. After two years I still have not been able to use this camera in its proper fashion, however, I do love trying.

I have taken a few photography lessons with a local photographer Rob Goldman. He is a wonderful, patient teacher and a talented photographer. When I am able to schedule time with Rob he opens up a new level of love within me to pursue my new hobby. The very first time I spoke to Rob he asked me what my style of photography would be and I could not answer. It has now been a couple of months since my first lesson with Rob and I at least know how I would like my photos to turn out.

My very good friend Lori introduced me to Allison Tyler Jones Photography. Her work inspires me. And while my photos are very different from her, she has given me inspiration for the direction of how I want my work to go.

I am hoping to turn semi-professional over the next couple of years. But that goal is a long way off, but I can say that being a professional photographer is something I need to be.

In my camera gear bag I carry:
Sony A100 DSLR
Sigma Zoom Super Wide Angle 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC Macro Autofocus Lens
PRO DIGITAL TTL AUTO FOCUS FLASH
Digital Concepts TR-60N Camera Tripod
Bower Optical Glass Filters
Sony RM-L1AM Remote Commander
Minolta Normal AF 50mm f/1.7 Lens
Sony 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Compact Super Telephoto Zoom Lens

I recently traded in the Sony kit lens to upgrade to the Sigma lens. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this lens. It has on its own improved the quality and style of my pictures.

When I edit my photos I use Photoshop Elements 6.0. I enjoy the simplicity of the program but hope to one day upgrade to Photoshop Lightroom.

Here are a couple of photo sites I use when make photo montages, copies of pictures, sharing pics, etc.
At One True Media you can create video montages to share online, buy on DVD or even send to a TiVo box!

I also use Kodak Gallery to upload and share my pictures. Get 20 FREE Prints at the Gallery today!

And possibly my favorite forum style site I use is Flickr~
