A Coxsackie Fork

Coxsackie is the soul sucking virus that found its way to my son.

My son Donnie is ABSOLUTELY miserable.  There is no more fever, but what has taken the fevers place is a throat full of sores.

Tonight after having an ice pop for dinner he said "Mommy today while Nana was watching me I think I swallowed a fork.  That is why my throat hurts so much".

I said, "no honey, it was not a fork you swallowed, you got a virus from school, you will feel better soon".

"But Ma, you said that like 20 years ago"

Blank stare was returned to him because I just sat and wondered where he get this stuff from?

Oh I'm so sorry for you. My daughter had that about a year ago, and it is just AWFUL. The good news is that the mouth sores heal pretty quickly. Keep close watch on diaper area too, though, as they can appear there. If they do, keep it as clean as you can, and coat with a lot of vasaline to help keep bacteria out. Good luck and many hugs for the little guy.

Okay, I've never heard of that, but it sounds awful.
I love that even in the midst of the yucks he still manages to snark off :-)

Looks like the virus isn't strong enough to knock his sarcastic wit down yet. Good!

I'm sure when you're that miserable, it probably feels like you've been sick for at least twenty year! Poor thing. I hope it passes quickly and he's all better soon.

My kids both got it when they were wee little tikes. The older you are, the worse it is, i hear and there is NOTHING you can do for it. Sucks. On the up side. I think they develop an immunity to it now that they've had it.

KEEP BELIEVING
