Crayola Two'fers

Friday night happy hour used to mean a hard days work rewarded with a few cocktails at the local hot spot.  Now you can find me getting jiggy with it at home with the boys.  Tonight after I put my youngest Aaron down for the night, my oldest and I decided to have a coloring marathon.  We broke out the new Crayola color wheel and a few thousand coloring books and went to town.

And let me share with you folks, it is not easy coloring with a little drill sergeant breathing down your throat.  I got yelled at for choosing the wrong colors, not picking the right picture and we even had some picture hijacking.  Yep, I would color a picture and Donnie would sticky finger the picture away and add his personal touches.

TWO HOURS.  Two hours of coloring.  It broke me.  Seriously, my hand hurt.  I may need to train in case there are future coloring marathons.  Who writes anymore?  Not me, nor do I color I use a mouse and keyboard to do everything.

The line of tonight was when I was baking some chicken for tomorrow and I bent down to take it out of the oven when Donnie came running up behind me.  I quickly scolded him, telling him that the oven is hot and that he should back up because it was extremely hot.  Still hiding behind me grabbing my leg says "Don't worry about me mom, I will be fine, your butt is big enough to hide me from the fire".

Drill sergeant indeed, I will be taking him on my afternoon run tomorrow.

Kim, I have to post on this one...go back in time...what did we (you and me only) used to do when you were sick, (like every other week)...we would sit for HOURS playing the game where we had to guess what numbers each other had to fill in the boxes...HOURS !!!! I couldn't wait til you got better, since we had to make the boxes for the game, we had papers all over the place. .. so just think of Donnie as your Marathon Kid...and the "butt" thing...well, I'm just glad I wasn't there, cause he would have said mine would have covered the whole neighborhood...hahahahahah...now get off your eliptical and go to bed, cause I know you're on it from his statement...

He is the cutest colourer (a word?!) - but 2 hours, what an animal!

And that line about the fire? OMG, he's a comedian too ;)

Is he the cutest or what? At least he wasn't using markers on the couch like my little one.

Way to go Super Color Mama! I have to say that I am more than impressed with the two hours! WOW!

There has to be an award for that much coloring... have you contacted Guinness World Book?

I have nothing I can add to the "butt' remark... gotta love the kids, so innocent, so honest. HA!

You know what? I miss your 365 photos.

Why is it that coloring with the kiddos is such a frustrating thing for adults??? Seriously, I color with my kid almost every day and I hate it. I'm only "allowed" to use the colors she gives me and she never lets me finish a picture either!!! WTF??
