Thursday Thirteen
My Thursday Thirteen is about my baby sister Jenny. It took a long time to find the friend I have in my sister. She saw me as the nerdy older sister that never broke the rules and I saw her as the baby of the family that got whatever she wanted by batting her eyelashes. We both grew up, and she is now a best friend. My sister Jenny is a single mother who put herself through college while working full time and raising two boys. She did it to better their life and to show her boys to pursue your dreams. She is an amazing mother and it is reflected in how respectful and loving her boys are turning out.
Here are 13 reasons I adore and lookup to my baby sis:
1. My nephews
2. Her strength mentally.
3. Her wickedly sharp sense of humor.
4. Her amazing determination.
5. Her non-stop dedication to making sure her boys are educated AND street smart.
6. Her hair.
7. Her genes that are so not my genes - she gets to eat whatever she wants and not gain a pound.
8. Her ability to piss my husband off in 1.2 seconds.
9. Her persuasiveness to get my mother to do anything for her.
10. Her gift of being able to speak her mind without regret.
11. Her bitchy exterior that she shows to all, but her amazing heart that she only allows very few to see.
12. Her courage.
13. Jenny, is the only one in this world that knows what to say to snap me out of any funk. It could be something so simple that others have said, but until I hear it from her mouth it does not register.

what a wonderful tt!! there is nothing like having a sister!! mine is my best friend...sometimes...
xoxo
Nice list. What a pretty sister you have. I too was the older nerdy sister. :)
She does have great hair. :)
Best friends and family are the best things one could ask for in life. And you have em both wrapped up in one person? That is beyond awesome. She should blog. Then she could be my friend - she sounds like a really cool person!
Such handsome nephews and a great sister
I wish I had a sister to TT about! Yours sounds wonderful!
Beautiful tribute. I assume she reads this and will be puffing up with pride and sexily shaking her pretty head so her lovely locks sway back and forth.
Good looking nephews. Not to sound stereo-typical, but are they mixed? My Grant is mixed (adopted). I think his mix makes him beautiful, but I often feel unequipped to educate him on the challenges he may face in life as a result of it. People can be cruel and will look for any reason to pick on someone. I love that your sister educates both book and street smarts. I try to put more street smarts in Grant because of what he may face in life. He is a strong boy. I like that in him.
KEEP BELIEVINg
Awesome post, Kim! What a wonderful tribute to your sister! :-)
Awww, sisters are great!
I'm like you. I am in awe of my younger sibling. I actually wrote a post about my baby bro on my blog today. I love what you wrote. I hope my kids grow up to be as close as you and I both are with our siblings.
Although, I put my brother on match.com without technically getting his permission, so he may kill me.
If my blog remains un-updated for a few days, you'll know I'm dead. Send for someone to remove my body, okay?
Her hair? Do you not have hair anymore and want hers? (Going into photoshop to have a little fun! :))
I never had a sister growing up... I truly envy you. She is beautiful and her sons very handsome young men. Wonderful tribute to your sister.
It's so great that you are so close with your sis. Siblings rule! I feel the same about my baby brother. We were always close, but since becoming adults, he is truly one of my best friends.
She's so friggin' pretty!
And she sounds like an amazing woman...with really great hair!
P.S. My sister's name is Jenny too!
Aww Kim, You actually brought me to tears while reading this. You are kinda still my nerdy older sister but I love you anyway!! This was very sweet to write and I try to be your rock when needed :-) I wouldnt trade you for the world. Your husband is another story but not you or my nephews..
My sister would tell you that I was the nerd and she was the casual, whatever, one. It caused a lot of friction then, but now we too are bffs. I am so grateful that she lives in the same town as me!
I could think of 13 things I DON'T like about my sister. Well, maybe things that I like if I thought really hard. But I don't like doing that.
God, Kim, did you have a brain fart moment when writing about Jenny !!!!...You know she'll keep reminding you how wonderful she is because YOU said so!!!...hahahahahahaha...
What a sweet post about your sister! She sounds like an amazing woman!
What a lovely 13!!! She is beautiful, and her boys are such handsome young men. It can be tough to be the nerdy older sister (that was me too... may I still am); but having a little sister is the greatest, isn't it?
Awe... here's to sisters!
What a great post to your sister!
Wish I had one.......
Ready for Lipstick Jungle tonight? Do you think she will pick Kirby for good??
It is excellent to have a best friend in sister! :-)
Wow. She sounds little like my sister. You are so lucky to have one another.
That's a sweet post :)
That is such a sweet post about your sister! My sister and I are starting to become friends now also! I think sometimes it's hard to get past the sibling rivarly thing and just be friends, but we are working on it!
A wonderful compliment to your sister. You certainly have handsome nephews!
Take Care -
