Easter Preparations

Things have been quiet on the ol' blog because I have been busy baking goodies for our Easter celebration.  Today Donnie, Aaron and I were busy baking, dipping and frosting.  Yes, Aaron may only be nine months, but he got to play with the measuring spoons while Donnie and I did all the real baking.

Donnie helped decorate the cupcakes:

There is a place here on Long Island called Edible Arrangements.  They are awesome, but they are a pretty expensive so I decided to "make my own".  I dipped some strawberries in pink and dark chocolate stuck a skewer stick into in and then stabbed it into the head of lettuce in the cute little vase, I then drizzled some mini Easter marshmallows with the chocolate, stuck in some lollipops topped it with a bunny and TA DA.  After I was finished I realized how much more I could have added, but I was NOT headed out to the supermarket again, especially a day before a holiday.  I thought it turned out cute for my first attempt:

It was time to color some Spiderman eggs!!  Donnie flipped when he saw "I picked out a cool egg color thing" his words, I swear he is older than three most days.  Here is Spiderman helping us put the eggs away:

The day had many accidents, eggs were dropped on the floor, melted chocolate was stuck all over my counter, the dye for the eggs was everywhere (a little stress never killed anyone, though I hear it makes your kids sick pffftt).  It was time for bath and I decided to try to capture how flipping cute the kids can be when they interact with one another.  The shot is really blurry because they move so fast and I am not great with my shutter speed yet, but here it is:

I always bathe them together now, they have a ball and it cuts bath time in half!

Thankfully, everyone is tucked into bed asleep and I am done with the Easter Bunny duties for the night.  The eggs are obviously hidden, and I am looking forward to spending tomorrow visiting the families.

From our family to yours, Happy Easter!!!

You are talented! Can I order a couple of those edible arrangements for Fury's b-day? Better yet, can we just come over and mess up your kitchen? To me that's the fun part! Cool Easter Spidey - I just showed Fury and he echoes that sentiment.

Happy Easter Kim! And Fury says happy easter to the boys!

I love the bath towels photo. We did our eggs with crayon drawings first and then dye, which won't stick where the crayon is. Of course, this meant I had to draw Lightening McQueen and Mac on my son's eggs. At least I got to do cute little chicks and stars and moons on daughter's. Have a happy Easter.

Love the arrangement!! Are you keeping it? I would have had a hard time sitting there looking at it, without "needing" to eat the strawberries. :-)

The picture of the boys together is super cute as well. How fun to have such a great shot of them loving each other.

Kudos to you on all you did today. What wonderful memories you are making with your little ones.

Happy Easter to you and your family. Hope you have a wonderful day together! :-)

Make your own Edible Arrangements is a great idea! I love those friggin' things and yes they are really pricey.

That pic of the kiddos...so cute! I bathe my girls together also. They love it!!

Happy Easter! Nice arrangement and bet those cakes that you baked are yummy too.
By the way, I'm in the process of transferring my poems from a website to a new blog. Mind if we exchange links for my poems blog?

Have a great Easter! Those pictures look delicious!

Bathing together is a time saver...for a while. Then it becomes counter productive when they splash/fight so much, they need to go separate again. We gave up double baths about a year ago. Sometimes we'll give a try, and quickly remember why we stopped.

Thanks for the link. Happy Easter.

Your arrangement is jaw-dropping and eye-popping....as in I can't believe you'd share this. The Edible Arrangements people must be appalled!

That arrangement made me sick to my stomach.... I think I will just save up my money and buy a nice looking bouquet!

I'm so glad my kids can't read blogs yet. I try to keep such crafts hidden from them, for fear they'll wish they had a different mother.
