February 25, 2008 Saying goodbye to an old friend. Tonight I traded my truck in after driving it for four years. I know it may sound silly but I was really sad to turn it in because the truck and I have been through so much together.
I put over 74,000 miles into this truck in the last four years!! It brought both my boys home from the hospital. We have taken many trips to visit friends and family. It has been puked in, colored on, stickers strategically placed and was used many times to drive the kids in circles just so they would fall asleep.
I hope it enjoys being retired.

If had a good run. :)
we call our suv a truck too. some people give me grief for it. I will send them your way to get straightened out.
What did you get to replace it?
Ooh jealous, I always wanted an X5 but four kids don't fit so great in there! So what are you getting now?
haha driving aimlessly in circles: best nap aide ever! Of course, nowadays it'll cost you the equivalent of a gallon of milk to do it. Still worth it.
You'll always have the memories! :)
I get the same way. I never want to part with my vehicles no mater how old and torn up they are... :D
Farewell truck! What did you get to replace it?
that's sooooo how i felt, when i had to retire my car that drove both my older kids home in!!
so...what are you getting? nothing...and i mean nothing...has ever driven, in my opinion, like the bmw!!! i had a little convertible...it was gorgeous! then, the 5 series...i loved those cars. that was in my past life. i have a honda pilot now...that is a really dependable car!! but...i want a new one!! so...get two of whatever you're getting and i will come and relieve you of the 2nd one!!
xoxo
When I gave up my old car for my new Honda CRV I couldn't have been happier... hated that nasty station wagon. But, we donated it to a non-profit organization in town that provides used cars to financially disadvantaged families, so she went to a good home. So.. whatcha getting now?
I have NEVER EVER been attached to a car. I think I have been more scarred, marred, and damaged by my therapy-inducing automobiles.
KEEP BELIEVING
Isn't it funny how attached you can get to a vehicle? Show us a pic of your new love now!
AWwwww...why the trade? I bet it was something nicer.. LOL
We also call our SUV a truck! Except our truck is a rusted, old, Ford Explo. I'll be trading that in for a van. I'll call that a truck, too. LOL
I've been driving my truck for over 10 years and I know it will soon be time to part with it. Makes me sad just thinking about it.
Aw, I know how you feel. No matter how much I was ready to get rid of a vehicle, it was always a little sad to see it go. Time to concentrate on the new 'toy' though! :-)
Hi, visiting for the first time. You left a comment on my blog last week, so I thought I would check out your blog.
I totally understand about being sad about your car. Especially the one that you bring the babies home in. Although, I am sure my car would much prefer a retired couple who didn't hand out snacks in it, and washed it more often.
Happy trails to you and your new car!
connections are real to our daily life :)
you prolly looked hot driving that!
No doubt... how hot were you in THAT car? Nice ride!
I used to have one of those. It is the BMW that I miss the most. I still think about her all the time. I wonder where she is, and if she is being cared for. I ordered her from the factory and loaded her up with everything I needed. I hope her new owners appreciate her perfection. *Sigh*
OMG.... did you get the mini van? =)
Sweet ride for sure!! Post pics of the new vehicle, it's probably fab!
